#Free Write Friday: Run Away

The #Free Write Friday Prompt from Kellie Elmore this week is about running away; finding your freedom from something that stands in your way.

Here’s my offering.

(And I promise to write something more prose-like soon.)

Thanks for visiting …

Dorothy 🙂

Run Away

Run Away

Run away?

I don’t think so

I’ve done all the running

All the hiding

All the cursing, swearing, complaining, grovelling, unloading

I’m ever going to do

Over you.

The truth is

You no longer exist

In the sphere of my

Existence.

Your loathsome ways,

Your selfish victimized

State is something with

Which I am done.

I shall not run.

But you should.

  1. I love it! I have felt this way before! NO more running! Great fun read with the last 2 lines like a hand in the face. Ah! The power of words.

    1. Thank you! I agree, words are very powerful and have an impact, even when we least expect. This is why I feel strongly about the way they’re used. Self-awareness is key. Sadly few people understand this. … Thanks for visiting and leaving a comment. … Be well, Dorothy 🙂

    1. I believe that’s true for all of us. I got tired of running and my experience with adrenal fatigue during the past couple of years has forced me to stand still and look my troubles in the eye. I’m grateful. … Thanks for visiting and leaving a comment. … Be well, Dorothy 🙂

    1. Yes, I suppose the pacing gives it its intensity ~ that and the subject matter. The sense of running while standing still and facing the “obliviot” (oblivious idiot). Strength. Resolve. Determination. … Thanks for visiting and leaving a thought provoking comment. … Be well, Dorothy 🙂
